Manifest like a mofo

The truth is, we can get into alignment very quickly when we get out of our own way. What if in one breath you could let go of the limiting beliefs holding you back?

Every time we reframe a negative or limiting thought we create a new magical pathway toward the possibilities. It doesn’t take long to become a master manifestor. What it does take is the willingness to think better feeling thoughts. It also requires detachment.

This week as you focus on what you would love to have happen, I invite you to detach! Detach from what the outcome needs to look like. I know it’s easier said than done but the truth is, when we connect on a soul level and step out of the head and into the heart we allow the magic to unfold. This is what The Joy Method™ is all about.

An easy way to detach it to get out into nature. Allow yourself to connect to something deeper. Be present. Give your worries away to the tress, the water. Notice life around you. Get back into flow.

Question for you: What is your manifestation style?

Do you try to make everything happen on your own? Do things feel forced or stressed? If so, there is another way. As a vibrational being you have the ability to call in energetic support!

How we feel while we manifest our dreams matters just as much as our dreams themselves.

I’ve decided to invite in more ease. This means I need to be willing to let go of the need to force and control. Easier said than done, but I can tell you firsthand I feel so much lighter!

Struggle, stress, tension and force are all signs that we are out of alignment.

A quick way to know where you’re in alignment is to ask what is feeling easy, fun and exciting versus what is feeling stressful, overwhelming and tense

Let The Quiet Moments Hug You


Let the Quiet Moments Hug You

The message I am getting is this:

Sometimes we need to get quiet before we can get loud…

I’ve been letting the quiet moments hug me. It feels like I'm reclaiming yet another part of myself. The flip-side is sometimes Joan (my inner critic) tells me I’m not doing enough. Anyone else with me on this? Raise your hand if you’ve been should-ing yourself!

In these moments, I’ve been checking in to see where I’m actually getting parts of myself back.

It’s easy to get accustomed to doing/building/achieving/striving. Chasing in this way can lead to burnout, depletion and exhaustion. In many ways slowing down–or "taking it cool" as my Nana called it–feels like recovery. It has been really lovely to listen more deeply and honour and nurture myself. If you feel this as you read, I would ask you:

Where can you release the should’s and stop striving? Where can you lean into BE-ing.

The one thing I know to be true is that everything unfolds in divine timing when we allow it.

Before looking outward, look within to ask how you are feeling. Your feelings are here to show you everything. Right now I believe we have the opportunity to release the should’s, and follow the Joy-crumbs back to ourselves.

What do you most want to experience? What is your hearts deepest desire. If you're not sure then right now can you give yourself some space to embrace the quiet?

Give yourself permission to BE where you ARE. Even if it means stopping. We need to stop pushing the merry-go-round if we want to stop spinning, catch our breath and move forward purposely.

Embrace the quiet moments. You will know when it's time to get loud about your life.

Just for today, can you slow down and lean into BE-ing.

Detach with Love


Detach with Love

In my life I have experienced A LOT of unnecessary drama, resentment and pain due to the desire to rescue.

Loving detachment has helped me to find much clarity through contrasting experiences. It has made me a sturdier human and a more effective coach, facilitator and leader.

If you are in the stormy waters of codependency, here are some things that have helped me that I am happy to share:

  • Realizing I was not in control was super helpful. Surrender is such an important part of living peacefully
  • Know that you putting yourself first is better for everyone
  • Focus on yourself, your vibration and your self-care
  • Create sturdiness with practices that feel grounding and calming
  • Hire a coach, therapist or another professional to support you on your journey (I know a Joy + Mindfulness coach who'd love to help. Wink Wink;)

Daily ritual is so helpful for feeling more aligned, peaceful and calm during life storms. This is why I created The Daily Joy Journal. As a tool to help me to align with my own energy and practice Joy daily. The daily practice of meditation is also a game-changer. It’s why I’m now a meditation nag! LOL Going within and plugging back into ourselves daily while remembering you and your loved ones are being guided and protected. This is hugely helpful.

If you, or the people you love are suffering and you are experiencing heartache and anxiety, I invite you to try to take some quiet space for yourself and do this simple visualization:

Let everything drift away as you focus on your breath. Ground into the truth of who you are. Simple be here in this moment. You don’t have to change or fix anyone or anything. We are all being guided and supported. You are being guided. Focus on simply being here and now. Connect to your heart and envision love flowing through your entire body until you are overflowing with love. Imagine it extending beyond your body into the room you are in. Send it to loved ones, or perhaps people you don't know who are suffering. Send it to situations or challenges you are experiencing. Send it to yourself. Feel yourself wrapped in love, coming back to breath and trusting that we are all being guided. In this moment, simply let go, love and breathe.

This has been such a helpful practice for me. I wanted to offer it to you too. So much love and wishing you feelings of peace, grace and love.

The Reality of Dreams


The reality of dreams

Every now and then I have moments when I remember how misaligned I used to feel in my life. I was working a job that left me feeling depleted and depressed. I dreaded the day ahead and couldn't wait to be finished work to go home and swallow it all down with a couple glasses of wine. Despite numbing myself, I was still on a spiritual path. It just wasn't as clear as it is now. I would get up every morning and write out Louise Hay inspired affirmations about what I truly desired. About how I wanted to use my strengths and gifts to be of service in the world to support and connect with others who are similarly passionate about making an impact by sharing their gifts.

Flash forward to now and my dream life is a reality. It's not perfect, but it is blessed AF. I'm sober and more plugged in than I ever thought possible. I'm surrounded by people I love who love and value me and I spend my days working with amazing clients doing things that bring me and the world JOY...

Why am I telling you this? Not to boast (though I do believe in celebrating ourselves and our lives)... I am sharing this because I want you to know your desires and dreams, the things you crave on a soul level, are here to show you what is possible. Step one to achieving your dreams is believing they can actually come true. So believe in the possibilities and dream your ass off!

My friend, it’s time to wake up to a life you freaking love! One that feels exciting, and purposeful, and Joyful, and abundant, and aligned. Don’t get me wrong, there will always be opportunities for growth (aka: challenges), AND when you are in alignment you will realize it’s all here to grow you.

Are you ready to believe in yourself? In your limitless possibilities? I sure hope so. The world needs that special thing that only you have. It’s time to move toward your dreams and shine!

If you knew that you could make your dreams come true by writing them down every day, what would you write? Take it a step further and feel into the experience of it. There is magic in naming, claiming and feeling into your dream experiences. This is why I do it and I encourage all of my clients and students to do it. This sh*t works! This is the #1 secret to becoming a master manifestor.

Appreciation is Everything


appreciation is everything

Let’s start things off with an attitude of gratitude...

Several studies show that a regular practice of appreciation can have a significant impact on our health, happiness, satisfaction with life, and relationships with others. Gratitude allows us to bring our mind to the present moment while bringing our focus to positive experiences and emotions.

This week, can you commit to Joy by listing 5 things you're grateful for on a daily basis?

Even if you've heard of it before, or done it before, I'd like to invite you to use it as a regular practice this week and notice how it makes you feel. I recommend using a journal to jot down down your list each day. Let's call it your Joy Journal!

If you find it challenging to come up with a list, here are some prompts to write about:

  • something that made you smile or laugh
  • a recent learning experience
  • a person in your life
  • a time you were able to help another person,
  • someone who did something nice for you,
  • a recent accomplishment, or
  • one of my go-to's – breath! I'm always thankful for breath.

F*cking Focus


F*cking focus

Do you ever feel like you have a hard time focusing? Like there’s so much to do and so little time? Like you’re doing 10% of many things instead of giving 100% to one thing and following it through?

During my coach training last year we were talking about what we needed in order to achieve our goals. My answer: F*cking Focus! Ha! The group challenged me to put post-its everywhere reminding me to—you guessed it—focus! And then an incredible thing happened. I f*cking focused! I set my phone timer for one hour. For just one hour I was not allowed to look at my phone, respond to emails, or do anything other than the task at hand...and guess what? It f*cking worked!

I know this is such a simple idea and many of you probably do this already, but if you're like me and you like shiny things, you might find it really helpful.

What do you need in order to achieve your goals?

If you're anything like me it's some serious F*cking Focus. Turn everything off, set a timer, and off you go. Remember that life is the cumulation of a whole bunch of actions. Every little step forward matters. It's easy to blame external circumstances for the undesirable places we find ourselves. In truth, we are the only ones standing in the way of our dreams. It's time to get out of our own way...

YOUR HEART

Life transitions can be lonely, and uncomfortable. Do you agree?

I’ve been in the middle of one for a while now. My desire to expand Joy is leading me to many new experiences and places. It is so beautiful and just like all change, it can also be scary.

There are times when I feel alone, and wonder if I’m doing the right thing. Most of the time I feel vulnerable and there are times when I feel judged. During these times, I find it helpful to reconnect with intention of my heart. I put faith into myself and life and continue to leap into the unknown. Like many other times in my life when I was given the option to grow, I know there are times when the path gets dark and things feel murky. And deep down, I know that I am on the right path.

If you are in transit, know that you are not alone. It will get better. On the other side, just beyond all of the discomfort is the shift. Where everything comes back into focus and all of this makes more sense.

You will get there one day. And this cramped in between will be meaningful. As for right now? Breathe. And then breathe some more.

You don’t always have to keep it together. You’re allowed to feel it. Whatever “it” might be. Even if it’s dark in there. The darkness is where we gather up our courage to step into the light.

You are incredible and stronger than you even know.

Can you hear the whisper of your heart? It’s asking you to reconnect with your intention.

The Art of Allowing


the art of allowing

According to The Law of Attraction, you get what you think about whether you want it or not. In this case, if you are focused on the lack of something i.e.:money, a better job, a partner, etc...then it may be challenging to attract what you are wanting.

The state of "allowing" is about aligning with the things you want to attract. It involves raising your vibrational level and consistently shifting your thoughts and emotions into the state of already having them.

For example, if you want more money, but are always thinking about how little money you have, then you are living in scarcity and it may be harder to attract abundance in this state. Energy flows where our attention goes. If we are focused on lack, then we will continue to experience lack.

The good news is that the opposite is also true! The better we feel, the more we are able to energetically attract better feeling experiences. 

You're probably asking, "so to apply the art of allowing and live our best freaking life we must live in the vibration of abundance?" The answer to that is YES! In order to experience abundance, you must first experience abundance. I know, it's a bit of a mind-f*ck, but trust me it works. I've experienced it personally many times AND I've witnessed countless clients, friends, and family members experience it as well.

When you feel abundant, abundance will flow to you. And as you become more aware of your emotions, you will know whether or not you are allowing. Because our emotions are our guidance system!

This week pay attention to your feelings. Notice where your attention is going. Are you in abundance mode or scarcity mode? Are you allowing or are you blocking the universe?

If you desire abundance, focus on appreciating the things that are currently contributing to feelings of abundance in your life. A regular gratitude practice is always a great way to raise your vibration.

Celebrate the Moment


Celebrate the MOment

I invite you to take a moment to celebrate the moment. How? With breath. I know, I know. It’s easier said than done. I really truly get it!!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I teach mindfulness humbly through my own practice. I teach and learn and re-learn and teach. And sometimes I fail – though I don't really believe in failure. I watched a video of Jon Kabat-Zin recently and loved his perspective around the practice. He began his lecture on the principles of teaching mindfulness with the question: are you living it?⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

The truth is, I try my best to live mindfully. Am I perfect at what I call The Joy Method? Nope. TBH, I don’t think I ever will be. I feel like part of being human means that we are continuously aligning with the truth of who we are. Which I believe is perfect, whole and complete. We have the opportunity to align with our nature through the practice. Which will look inherently different for everyone because all of us are different with unique journeys, lessons and gifts. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣I’ve never claimed to be perfect. I don’t believe any of us are here to be perfect. I believe that we are here to give and experience love while living this wild life the best way we possibly can in any given moment. With breath. And compassion. Loads of it for ourselves and others. ⁣

We all f*ck up. Mindful and Joyful living is not about being perfect. Hopefully you're surrounded by people who understand this. If you're not then let me remind you that it's okay not to be perfect. Sometimes I need to remind myself of this too. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I do this by coming back to this one moment. The only thing that really matters. Wishing you a mindful day, celebrating each moment with breath.
