SURRENDER TO LIFE

Yesterday I admitted defeat. A group call I was on crashed for the second time this week. I recorded it again to find out it didn’t save anywhere. I was going to re-record it but I knew, based on my energy, that as much as I wanted to show up for others, I needed to show up for myself. And so instead of recording again, I told the truth, honoured my heart and body and got some much-needed rest. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣Sometimes showing up means being honest about not showing up!⁣⁣

If you feel like you’re falling apart while trying to keep everything together, can you take some time (even just 5 mins) to objectively look at your plate and everything on it? Ask yourself how you feel about each task, commitment, agreement. ⁣If you are feeling anxious, stressed out or overwhelmed, it’s typically a sign that you are out of alignment. Our emotions are our guides!⁣⁣

⁣⁣No one expects you to do it all. No one expects you to be perfect. No one needs you to prove anything.

The world wants you to feel as good as possible.⁣

If you are doing things at the expense of yourself, your loved ones or the things that truly matter to you, this is a sign. You don’t have to live like this. The world won’t end if you admit you can’t do it all. In fact, quite the opposite!⁣ Holding yourself hostage with “shoulds” and overwhelming to-do’s allows the ego to keep its fear-based claws in us. We’ve all been there and will likely be there again. Because Joy is a practice.⁣⁣ Feeling good takes practice!

⁣My question to you is, are you ready to start practicing? Are you ready to start honouring yourself and move toward how you want to feel and what you actually want to experience? If so, ask yourself honestly what you can gracefully release, decline, or renegotiate today. Take inspired action and make the call or send the email. Let me know how you feel after! ⁣⁣

⁣Surrendering to life on life’s terms is an incredibly freeing thing. The more honest and genuine we are about where we’re at and how we’re feeling, the more we give others permission to do the same. Isn’t that a wonderful motivator? Giving each other permission to honour ourselves? Have the best day being beautiful you.

So much love to you beautiful friend,

Xj, Jillian
